Smart BPM

Talking head review ads that stop the scroll — engineered for conversion.

Smart BPM needed social video creative that could perform as acquisition ads on Instagram and TikTok. We produced a library of talking head review hooks, each designed to capture attention in the first three seconds and hold it through a clear value proposition.

The brand

Smart BPM needed social video that could perform as paid acquisition on Instagram and TikTok, where a health-adjacent product has to earn trust fast and hold attention past the first three seconds. The bar is high: the creative has to feel credible and stop the scroll without the polish reading as an ad people skip.

That’s a genuine tension. Too rough and a health product loses credibility; too slick and it trips the instinct to scroll past anything that looks like advertising. The opening has to thread that needle — feel native enough to earn a watch, assured enough to be believed — all inside the three-second window where most viewers have already decided.

The strategy

We opened with a crossfade hook that creates visual intrigue before the product reveal, then moved into a clear value proposition. Delaying the reveal a beat buys curiosity — the viewer stays to see what’s coming, which is exactly the attention the three-second window is fighting for, before the benefit is paid off plainly.

The format is built for sound-off feeds: every beat of the edit works visually, with framing and on-screen text carrying the message so it lands whether or not the viewer has audio on. Shipping a library of hooks rather than one edit gives media room to test the opening, so spend goes to the angle that performs instead of riding on a single cut.

What we delivered

We produced a library of talking-head review hooks in native 9:16, each designed to capture attention in the first three seconds and hold it through a clear benefit — starting with the first shipped variation and built to extend. The vertical format is authored for the feed natively rather than cropped from a wider master, so each hook sits right in the placement it’s made for.

The library is structured to grow: as testing surfaces which openings perform, new hooks build on what works rather than starting fresh. The brand gets test-ready acquisition creative now and a framework to keep feeding the paid account as angles prove out.

The outcome

Smart BPM has a growing library of test-ready review hooks engineered for the first-three-seconds battle of paid social. Each one threads the credibility-versus-polish needle a health-adjacent product has to manage, reads with the sound off, and is built to extend — so as testing reveals which openings perform, the brand can keep feeding the account with creative that builds on what already works rather than starting from a blank frame.
