HumHum Bird
Talking-head product review videos built to convert in social feeds.
HumHum Bird needed talking-head review creative that could perform as acquisition ads across Instagram and TikTok. We produced a set of review-led videos that open with a clear hook, hold attention through an authentic on-camera testimonial, and land the product benefit before the scroll.
The brand
HumHum Bird needed acquisition creative that could work as paid ads across Instagram and TikTok, where polished brand films often underperform a credible human voice. The format that converts there is the talking-head review — but only if it earns trust in the first seconds and lands the benefit before the scroll. That’s a craft problem as much as a production one.
The trap is that “authentic” is easy to fake badly and hard to make well. A review that feels staged is worse than no review at all; one that feels real does the work of a recommendation from a friend. Getting there is about structure and pacing — what’s said first, when the product appears, how the benefit is framed — not just pointing a camera at someone.
The strategy
We built the creative around a real on-camera voice — leading with a talking-head hook that earns trust fast, then cutting to product context to make the benefit concrete. The order is deliberate: credibility first, product second, so the viewer is bought into the person before they’re asked to consider the thing being recommended.
Every beat is engineered for sound-off feeds. On-screen text and framing carry the message when the audio is muted, so the review still reads and converts without sound — and the open is structured to clear the three-second window where most viewers decide whether to keep watching, the single most important moment in a feed ad.
What we delivered
We produced a set of talking-head review videos in native 9:16, plus a full-width PDP cut — review-led creative built to run as acquisition ads across Instagram and TikTok and to reinforce the listing. The vertical cuts are made for the feed first, not cropped down from a horizontal master, so they sit native in the placement they’re meant to run in.
The PDP cut carries the same credible voice onto the product page, so the trust earned in the feed isn’t lost at the point of purchase. Together it’s a coherent set — one review, expressed in the formats each channel actually rewards.
The outcome
HumHum Bird has review creative that earns trust fast and converts in the feed with the sound off — ready to run as paid acquisition. The same credible voice carries from the vertical feed cut onto the PDP, so the trust built in the scroll isn’t lost at the point of purchase, and the set is structured so the brand can keep producing on the same proven format as it scales spend.
